The Windy City

28 Jul

Bushranger has crossed that fickle lake named Michigan and is safely ensconced in the DuSable Marina.

I think that deserves a very big WOO-HOO!
Why, you ask; because the DuSable Marina happens to be in the Windy City itself – CHICAGO!

This is a cool city! Boyd and I did a bit of reconnaissance, since tomorrow is a big day (weather gods willing).

2scoping out tomorrow

Bushranger will need to slide through a couple of locks and under quite a few very lowwwwww bridges to get through the river that runs through the city.

Here’s a taste of what we saw in beautiful Chicago…

…hey, you bikies out there — did you know that Chicago is the start of the famous route 66? Neither did we, until we happened to notice this sign…

Since we had a taste of the Windy City, we decided to celebrate our arrival to the city in style…

…yes, sir, there is no better way to cap off a successful mission than a big bowl of gelato…

Time to get back to Bushranger and shoo away some of those pesky locals…10bird on a bush

Looked like a wonderful view of Chicago from the water. Low bridges — it reminded me of the stories I’ve heard about riding down the Rhine River.
