Trent-Severn (Part 6)

20 Jun

The winds were supposed to pick up later in the day, so Bushranger snuck out of her slip at Gordon’s Marina a good two hours before the lock was to open. We figured that we needed to vacate that skinny slip well before the winds found us – otherwise we would have been stuck there for another day. So, with the help of some neighborly boaters, we set sail, crossed the channel (for a total of about 50 feet), and tied up again right at the foot of the lock. It took all of 3 minutes. And guess where we ended up…

…yep, there’s my favorite shoe store sitting right at the top of the stairs. I figured Destiny was telling me I needed a few more shoes. What’s a girl to do?!?…so I shopped (and I’m not telling you if I bought more shoes; that would just be too cruel…).

At 10 am the locked opened and we scooted through. The lake was a bit choppy but not too bad.

We only did three locks today, and we’ve tied off at the top of the Rosedale Lock.

Time for a cup of tea, I think…
