Trent-Severn (Part 2)

15 Jun

We’ve continued down the Trent-Severn…

down the trent severn
…and ended up in the little town of Hastings.

Boyd has been happily snapping pictures of the signs (which are written in both French and English… which is very understandable given that we ARE in Canada).

snaps Boyd plans to send them to our son who is a French teacher in Australia. He tells us that translating everyday things (like signs) is a good teaching tool, so Boyd is enjoying snapping everything from warning signs to historical posters.

Bushranger is currently gently bobbing on the wall above the lock at Hastings.

How’s this for a view out the door?…

Boyd should go to the grocery store and snap pictures of everything canned or boxed…. it is always good to be able to translate food! And don’t forget to take pictures of the signs on the ladies rooms and men’s rooms! I can’t think of anything more important to be able to say in a foreign language.

We just pulled into Hastings and are enjoying a delicious ice cream cone. We miss you!

We had that ice cream! It was just perfect! We’re at the marina in Peterborough. Our Garmin is playing up and Boyd is trying to fix it. If you hurry up, maybe you can join us for some craft beer tonight downtown? 😉
