Friends Ahoy!

20 Aug

Bushranger’s crew has temporarily doubled!.  Yep, we’re currently operating with two auxiliary crew members:  Matt and Faye joined us back at Ilion.  They have kindly agreed to assume the heady responsibility of ‘guest bloggers’.  So we don’t keep you in suspense any longer than necessary, straight from Matt’s IPad then to Faye’s IPad then on to you…

‘In September 2012 we made the journey from Canberra Australia to Iuka, Mississippi to catch up with our dearest friends Boyd and LynnAnne, and spend a few days helping with the refit of the boat. Way back in the blog (September 15, 2012) you will see a pictures of the watertank that Matt helped Boyd fit.

So it was time to come over again, this time to rendezvous with Bushranger in Ilion, NY to see how that water tank has held up. It has been a real joy to spend time with Boyd and LynnAnne and be part of their dream as they transited along the Erie Canal to Sylvan Beach and then across Lake Oneida to Brewerton.

Bushranger is a beautiful boat, a real ‘Lady of the Loop’ who gathers admiring glances as she passes majestically by.

Having enjoyed great weather and wonderful hospitality onboard, the four of us are off for a road trip around the area for a few days, checking out Niagara Falls, Buffalo and the Finger Lakes that dot the northern part of New York State – and some of those craft beers that LynnAnne often writes about.

Oh, and we’re pleased to report that the water tank is holding up well!’

Thanks guys, you have been a joy!

If you look closely, you can see camera-shy Faye just behind's the only photo she has allowed me to post.

Your auxiliary crew are good at blogging too. Looks like the Admirals are reliving their Midshipman days with the shenanigans on forecastle.

I would agree that Bushranger is a very classy and “pretty” boat. She always stands out at a marina. So glad you both have had an opportunity to see her at her best and enjoyed some splendid days of sailing. Enjoy your time exploring !!!

Still reckon something is missing – the Rutherfords. What a wonderful time you are going to have exploring together! Visit Niagara On The Lake – a gorgeous little town. One day……..
