No Wrong Turns, Please

Barnegat

Bushranger is passing one of my childhood memories — the Barnegat Lighthouse. Many a summer was spent down at Long Beach Island, New Jersey.   My cousins, brothers and sister and I would make sand castles, play tag in the surf, and generally get sunburnt (this was before we ‘knew any better’) on the white Jersey Shore sands.  On rainy days, our Moms would shuffled us down to explore the historic Barnegat Lighthouse – we used to know exactly how many steps there were to the top (does anybody remember how many?!?).

Anyway, Bushranger is chugging along the Jersey coastline.  If we get a bit distracted and happen to make too much of a right turn about now, there is pretty much nothing between us and Spain (or maybe Northern Africa).

…so no wrong turns, please…

How lovely for you LynnAnne to be back where you spent your childhood. I’m waiting to see who in your family can remember the number of steps in the lighthouse.
