Onward From Charleston, South Carolina

27 Jun

We pulled into the madhouse that was Charleston, South Carolina yesterday…

…were we the only ones who forgot that President Obama was going to be there? Boyd and I kept commenting on all the police/sheriff/Coast Guard boats in the harbor (what a surprise, hey?).

So we tied Bushranger up at the Megadock…

…and it really IS a MEGA dock! A person could keep in shape just traveling to and from the bathrooms! We decided that it was good judgement to avoid the craziness downtown (we had just visited Charleston by car with Mitchell and Angus a couple of weeks ago) and had a quiet night aboard, anticipating another early departure today.

Again, we had to beat the low tide to make it through the channel – and it is SO low.

We’re picking our way around mudflats!
