Early Start to Charleston

26 Jun

We’re off to Charleston, South Carolina…and it was a very early start.

early morning go

You see, we had to beat the out-going tide through some very tricky channels…

very shallow

…and we had a friendly escort to help us find our way…

dolphin escort

…and a lovely light show to keep us in awe…

Beautiful photos. Where are you going to stay? We stopped at St John’s on the Stono River, then Isle of Palms. Both were very nice. Try to time the current wherever you stop near Charleston–lots of strength there!

Don’t really know where we want to stay yet. Thanks for the advice about the current.

Where are you at this point?

If you haven’t watched the news — Charleston is a madhouse today. President Obama is there for the Senator’s funeral. I imagine there are watches on the harbor.

That explains all the police/sheriff boats in the harbor! We’re sitting on the Megadock and our little piece of tranquility — we WILL NOT wander downtown tonight! 🙂
