Georgia So Far

What makes ‘looping’ so interesting is that you really can’t anticipate what’s going to happen, one day to the next. Last night, Bushranger rested at the Morningstar Marina at St. Simons Island. It was beautiful – top of the line floating docks, beautiful amenities (including a wonderful restaurant with a live band), and pristine facilities.

Well, just nine hours later we have tied up at the Kilkenny Marina. It is rustic and filled with ‘plain-spoken’ folks. The dock is ‘floating’, but it is floating on oil drums that have been hinged together. It’s nestled in the trees, on the edge of the sea grasses of Georgia. It also has a restaurant, but it happens to be closed today (Sunday) so the folks can spend time with their families.

So, which one do I prefer? …actually, I really like the fact that I get to experience both…

  1. Looks like there is quite a difference between the two, though it’s nice to experience different things!

OMGoodness, I remember Kilkenny Creek vividly! The restaurant was also closed the night we were there! Humm When I told a native of Georgia that we had stayed there she apologized to us. However, like you we found the charm in being there – very unique and very quiet!
Garth and I are presently in Newfoundland, tomorrow we are looking at icebergs and whales!! It will be nice to be on someones boat and just sit back and relax!
    Big hello to Boyd!

Wow! How cool to hear from you! I feel like we’re actually ‘doin’ the loop’! It sounds like you guys are doing some GREAT stuff! Boyd and I talk about you guys often…when we were ‘looping-virgins’, so to speak… Tell Garth we said ‘hi’ right back.
