Boyd put down his drill gun, and we left Bushranger’s handrails to finish curing (yes, I threw a quick coat of varnish on a few bits and pieces) and decided to have a day for true Americana – and what could be more American than a day at the Gun Show!

To tell you the truth, I’m not sure if this was my first gun show or not. Way back when I was young and foolish (as opposed to old and nuts) I used to frequent all sorts of get-togethers – Star Trek Conventions, art auctions, church pancake breakfasts (I know – ‘say it ain’t so!!’). I think I may have snuck into a gun show or two during my wild-west period (yup, picture this girl with Tony Lama boots and a calico ‘kerchief around her neck…hmmmm, on second thought, maybe not…). Anyway, with that disturbing picture in your mind, let’s get back to today…

So, Boyd and I decided to check out a local gun show. It wasn’t a BIG gun show (as gun shows go), but it certainly sported the required equipment and personnel; lots of friendly folk in camouflage, fingering machine guns and tactical shotguns. We had a blast!

So, after perusing the selection, what do ya’ reckon we came home with…
…a cheese knife for Boyd…

…and some dental equipment that will help with my varnishing…

…somehow, it always comes back to varnish!?! What’s with that?!?

And, by the way, I now feel a whole lot better, after seeing the ‘Zombie Apocalypse Response Vehicle’.

We are so enjoying your posts from the loop, but missing you at Pickwick. It’s just not the same without you! Please keep in touch, keep us ” posted,” as they say. We’re going to try to get to Charleston, South Carolina to visit friends this spring, as well as Florida. What’s your route and when?

I was so please to see your comment, Kathryn! We miss you guys, too. I’ll send you an email with our thoughts about where/when in the future. Love to you guys, la
