Goodbye Biscuit…

beautiful dock

On her last day aboard, Biscuit took this photo of Bushranger’s current dockage.

The Bushranger crew is in mourning…the temporary assignment of our beloved Biscuit is coming to an end. So, to prepare ourselves for the coming deprivation, we decided to give her a proper send-off in Pensacola Florida!

…I love Pensacola! The downtown area is clean and tidy and full of life.  Young folks (in short hair, jogging outfits, and looking like they would be more comfortable in their ‘standard rig’ of cap and uniform…after all this is most definitely a ‘Navy town’) stroll the streets with their ‘honeys’ (or ‘hunks’), enjoying the restaurants and beer joints (for those of you that are interested, we DID sample the World of Beer that claims to feature more that 500 craft beers, but were disappointed. The server informed us that they didn’t have a single craft beer from the local area…all well…). It’s a town where the sound of jets and props is always echoing in the distance (the Navy does aviation training here) and there is always something interesting on the horizon.

The Naval Aviation Museum is definitely worth a look...they take you on a bus ride down the flightline where hundreds of historic aircraft are dreaming of younger days...

So, after giving her a proper send-off, Biscuit is jetting her way back to Oz, and Boyd and I are stumbling to get back to a two-man (?) crew.

Biscuit is actually flying via Delta, although she looks like a natural ace here, doesn't she?

So far,  I have mistakenly made enough porridge to feed three, and Boyd has lamented that tea-making was much easier with a crew of three…so I think we may ‘impress’ Chuck the cat (who  happens to live at the marina and occasionally inspects the visiting boats) into the Bushranger crew, to help swell our ranks…

…don’t tell Koko, okay?…

Hugs right back at ya! You guys are the salt of the earth so I guess it makes sense that you are in the salt mines. 😉
