Anchoring Out

11 Nov

Our mornings have been misty…okay, to be honest, they’ve been down-right foggy…

geese in fog

…so being the good little sailors we are, we’ve been waiting for the fog to clear before we start each morning. It’s given us a chance to enjoy a lovely cup of tea and the serene countryside (we’ve been anchoring out…and it’s so peaceful).

…except for the occasional excitement. Take a close look at this ‘idyllic’ scene…

airplane distance

…now, look at a close up…

airplane closeup

– yep, that white diagonal shape over the water is an airplane…maybe 20 feet off the water (which is pretty close to the height of Bushranger)…hmmmm

Today we’re off to Demopolis for a bit of laundry and admin. Hopefully, it’ll be a peaceful ride…

    Hi Boyd and LynnAnne,

I have been following your blog in the background and thought now would be a good time to take the leap into blog land. I have been monitoring your progress on the boat restoration and have been in awe of your commitment and achievements.

When reading the blog I would often reflect Boyd, on the discussions on retirement we’d have in your office. I remember one such time when you pointed to a picture of a boat on your office wall and you said that you’d own one when you retired and would explore America’s waterways. That would have to be about 6 or 7 years ago and you’ve held true to your dream. Now’s the time for you both to enjoy your retirement and have a great time doing it.

    Safe travels

      Hello Mary,
We were so please to see your comment! Boyd has been dreaming about this trip for a very long time (as you know) and it’s great to actually be underway. If you have any trips planned to the US at any time in the future, please look us up…I know Boyd love to catch up with you!

Thanks for taking the time to both follow us and comment.

Did you run your generator when you tied out?

For a little while to charge it, but we let it off when we slept…it worked great!
