The Dry-Riser Show!

29 Nov

Okay, I think the hard stuff is done for this year.  Tomorrow we’ll button her up and say our goodbyes, but I think you may want an update on Boyd’s finale for the year….and it’s call “The Dry-Riser”!

Here’s what he had to say about it…

“The last job for this year before we wrapped her up for winter was to replace the exhaust hose and exhaust cooling water mixer elbow (that’s where the really hot exhaust gas gets cooled down with seawater) with a safer arrangement that keeps the dry part of the exhaust well above the water line.  To do this we had a really cool dry-riser and mixing elbow made by Seaboard marine in California.  We now feel a lot better that cooling water can’t possibly get into the engine.”

Note the lovely silver jacket on the doo-hickey…yep, is Bushranger fashionable or what!?!

Merry Christmas right back at ya’! Sydney is warm and wonderful. We’re catching up with family and friends, meeting for breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks…I think I’ve gained 5 pounds! Bushranger is having a lovely nap while we’re gone which is good since we have high expectations for her when we return… P.S. you’re my favorite Bushranger follower (but don’t tell anybody)… la
