Holiday

Memphis

All you Bushranger followers, be advised…we’re takin’ a bit of a break.

Yep, the girls have come to visit and we’re doin’ the town…and the “town’s” name is Memphis! …and guess where we had to start…

Elvis

You guessed it! Graceland! It’s sort of like doing a pilgrimage to Mecca, but with tacky gilded, mirrored walls and rock-and-roll playing in the background.

While in Memphis we took in the rest of the sights, like the Mississippi river, The Peabody Hotel (with its iconic ducks that swim in the fountain), and the National Civil Rights Memorial.

From there we went to a beautiful town called Oxford, home to Ol’ Miss (Mississippi University), and author William Faulkner… definitely worth a look.

At the moment, the girls are down at the lake, doing a bit of boating. Unfortunately, Bushranger is not yet up to cruising, so the girls are using a borrowed kayak. Tomorrow, they’ll get a taste of what Bushranger aspires to be, as we hop aboard Pogo; a beautiful trawler owned by friends Jerry and Betty.

Vacation wonderland: beautiful Iuka Mississippi!

Is the Mississipi as big as the Potomac? We are currently by that crick woofing oysters and crab enjoying taxation without representation! Should we falter a Liquid Robot will take us home (country roads). Photos follow – shake rattle and roll.
