Checking It All Off

Right!

doghouse 1

The ‘doghouse’ is now done. Remember, we’ve been repairing the teak, re-caulking and re-varnishing the forward hatch (affectionately known as the ‘doghouse’).  Well, it’s finally done…and we didn’t even need to whack it too many times with a hammer to get all the bits to line up correctly!

Boyd has also finished a large portion of the electrical wiring…the new, safer electrical outlets (GFCI (Earth Leakage Device) if you’re into that sort of thing) are painted and installed (although we haven’t tested them yet…fingers crossed, please).

Now it’s time for a new project…and the game is called ‘How to Install Air Conditioning’.  Boyd has pretty much got the air conditioner in the aft cabin worked out, and he is now working on the second unit that will keep the salon and forward cabin cool.

This air conditioner is in the newly designed aft cabin closet. This closet used to hold the old washer/dryer (which had rotted out the floor). Boyd has replaced all the floor and built a 'cubby shelf' for the a/c unit. Pretty cool, eh?!?

This is where the second a/c unit is going...it used to have a huge trash compactor in it. We;re hoping that we don't generate so much trash that we NEED to 'compact' it.

Ah, yes...boys and their toys...

The forward hatch looks fantastic LynnAnne. Well done. Not to mention all the other varnished wood we can see in various photos.
