I Just Blinked

1 Jun

I swear, I just looked away for a moment, and we turned a page.

I had just left Boyd back at the boat and was on my way back to the log cabin to do some puttering around when, metaphorically speaking, the sun came out from behind a cloud. As I glanced back at the boat, I noticed a bunch of the ‘lads’ from the marina (Boyd calls them the troops) carrying what looked like a long metal pole. Intrigued, I took a closer look — could that be our new prop shaft they’re carrying? Sure enough, they were headed for Bushranger! Quick as a flash, they maneuvered that 12 foot pole through the cabin door, through the opposite window, angled it down into the engine room, and gently slipped it into the awaiting propeller shaft casing.

Boyd and the troops maneuvered the prop shaft into the engine room…

…making sure it fits…

…and it fits perfectly!

No worries! And, just like that, we’ve turned the page on the Bushranger adventure! With the prop shaft back in place, we can now install the holding tank, then the generator, then the engine, and so on and so on…

It is now a bright and sunny day in Iuka, Mississippi!

Just had a chance to view your new entry, yeast update and the restaurant review. So glad to hear the “sun came out in Iuka” yesterday! Yeah!!! I will mention the yeast info to Nancy. I think she will find it very reassuring. And your breakfast place looked like quite a find. Here’s to another great day! (Also, I went on to the Captain’s Log and only saw postings prior to 2/2012. Not sure if I am missing something…???)

Thanks! There hasn’t been anything posted in the “Captain’s Log” in a very long time…..I think the Captain is shy…

Big moment I should say. Congratulation! Really impressed with what you two are doing. Not surprising though. Miss your bread, and love the blog.

…if only you knew. It is project management, Mississippi style, that has alot of ‘manana’ in it….
