Bushranger Stands Ready for Her Makeover

22 Feb

Today is the day to get our head(s) wrapped around all the bits and pieces needed to get from here to there. Even the weather gods have agreed that today is THE DAY.  The sun is shining, the sky is a magnificent deep blue with an occasional high, wispy cloud, and there is a gentle breeze – it’s all saying, “Yes, today is Bushranger’s day!”

So, Boyd (with some help from Sonny, our wonderful wine maker (see Oct 8th, 2011 entry) and proud owner of ‘Bodacious One’) spent the morning getting organized.

By lunch time, Terry (also known as “The Boat Doc”) had arrived and it was time to get down to business.

Boyd and Terry put their heads together, calculating estimated space requirements for batteries, holding tanks, and other critical components. Next, the discussion centered on electrical requirements (i.e. how big do those batteries need to be, what size alternator, cabling and wiring requirements, etc.).

At this point in time, I felt it was incumbent upon me to insert my expectations regarding the minimal power required for my kitchen – after all, even though we plan on living in a 38 foot trawler for a couple of years, I expect my kitchen to be up to snuff and able to handle all my gadgets – a girl HAS to have some standards, after all…

Lots to do…keep your fingers crossed that the weather gods keep smiling on us.

…the end…

Come on weather Gods, keep on smiling down on this committed group of boat lovers. The photo of Bushranger looks magnificent. Hope it weathered the last two months OK. Thanks for the delightful commentary, LynnAnne. I feel like I am right there at dockside.

guess what….it’s raining again….let’s see, I may need to do what Nana did when she wanted good weather – she used to, as she put it, “turn the virgin” to the window. For some reason, that doesn’t sound that good today, does it?….hummm….
