24 Nov

Traditionally, today is the day to give thanks.  So, here goes… I am thankful for:

  1. a silly little boat that is providing lots of fodder for my new hobby, this blog
  2. a handy husband who can change an old, tired boat into a trim, clever boat
  3. new friends who make life so entertaining
  4. old friends who keep us in their thoughts
  5. family all around the world who continue to love and support us
  6. two countries that don’t seem to mind where we wonder off to
  7. yeast that makes my bread rise (every time!)
  8. sunny, warm days that make working on the boat a pleasure
  9. rainy, cold days that make snuggling in bed a joy
  10. teas and toast provided by my husband, when I first wake up each morning
  11. a ‘proper’ cup of coffee that actually tastes like it smells
  12. a furry little cat (maybe not as little as she should be) who seems pretty good at traveling and settling into new homes
  13. retirement pensions that give us the freedom to pursue our dream
  14. parents that taught me that I most certainly CAN do anything I put my mind to
  15. places I can go and people I can be with, where I know I will always be loved
  16. a sister who lives her life dedicated to the importance of ‘family’, and makes me smile
  17. brothers with whom it always feels like we spoke just the other day, even though, in reality, we spoke months ago
  18. adult children who are healthy, independent, self-sufficient and adding value to the world

I normally spend Thanksgiving with my parents in Naples Florida.  This year, however, Bushranger had other ideas. So, just so ya’ know, Mom and Dad, I miss spending this holiday with you.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Thank you!

Beautiful! Especially the part about your adult children (who by writing this possibly makes them less adult lol). Love you. xxx

Happy Thanksgiving Boyd & LynnAnne. I love your list of what to be thankful for. We are enjoying your blog. Bushranger won’t know herself when you guys are finished with her. I wish we could join you for some of those recipes you’ve been cooking up LynnAnne. Love from the Balmain Robinsons

…and I’m so sorry to be missing your Christmas celebration this year. Your boys are the perfect age for Christmas (I’m so jealous!). Thanks for commenting on my blog. I feel like you’re right next door when you add a comment. Love to everybody.

Wow! You brought tears to my eyes. (You do write well!)
And I am thankful for you…a sister and a dear friend who is always there for anyone in need and always sees the glass half full!
    We love you!
