Would you call this ‘ship shape and Bristol fashion’?!? Nope…

So, believe it or not, he’s still scrubbing!

After removing the fuel tanks and engine, Boyd found that the bottom of the boat was covered in rust and ‘crap’…so, the thing to do was to make it ‘ship shape and Bristol fashion’…and, (tah-dah!) it is actually white under all that ‘crap’! Boyd has also discovered that the previous owners (over the past 30 years) had a tendency to simply leave old wires from replaced components rather than remove them.  So, that means that Boyd has to figure out which wires are actually operational and which wires are there just to confuse the issue — a large puzzle, don’t you think?

I’m really impressed with the work you are doing on Bushranger. Wow. Talk about a labor of love (I hope). But she looks great and I can imagine you two enjoying your trek around the US. I’ll follow the blog and see where we can catch up. All the best.

Thanks Scott. We hope to bring Bushranger up to the coast of New Jersey when we finally get her up and operational. At which point, I hope I can tempt you and Bob over for dinner or drinks and a tour of the boat!

Hi Barbie, Well done — and it’s an excellent name, too. I liked it so much I married a man to get it!
Boyd is doing a great job of not just scrubbing the deck, but ripping out engines, measuring tanks and essentially turning this venerable old lady into a hip and gorgeous eyecatcher (I’m taking about the boat by the way)! We’re in for an interesting ride!
