She’s Finally Out Of the Water

3 Oct

Well, she’s finally done it. Bushranger has finally lifted herself, with the help of some very manly men, out of the drink.

After gently escorting her out of her berth, and kindly allowing her to take care of her ablutions (we finally got a chance to empty her holding tanks), she has been planted on a hardstand so her mechanic, Terry, assisted by Boyd, can do the required transplants and cosmetic improvements.  The way I look at it, the first procedure is kind of like a heart transplant. Already, Terry and Boyd have removed Bushranger’s’engine (her heart,  so to speak), in preparation for the installation of Molly Brown’s much newer engine into Bushranger’s hull. After that, the really hard part begins – removal of the old fuel tanks.

I’m kind of glad I’m still up here in Virginia, rather than watching down in Mississippi – not sure I could have handled the stress!
