Much To Do!

Bushranger’needs a new pair of shoes…

Well, really, she needs a new engine, new kitchen (I know, I know, it’s a galley!), new air conditioning, new fuel tanks (the old ones have been in there for over 30 years – don’t really want to look in there…), and a good old-fashioned spring (autumn?) cleaning.  Capt Boyd is down in Iuka Mississippi getting Bushranger all “ship shape and Bristol fashion”.  But, ya’ know, they are right when they say “Rome wasn’t built in a day”. So, first we need to get through all the “stuff” that has been collected onboard for the past 30+ years.  Boyd has been going through all the cabinets/cupboards, sorting the “wheat from the chaff”, so to speak. Next, he hopes to pull Bushranger out of the water, so we can begin the big stuff!  The old engine needs to come out, so we can get access to the fuel tanks, then the fuel tanks need to come out (although they probably won’t fit through the door, so we will need to remove the windows), then the tanks need to be measured so we can order the replacement tanks.  The new tanks will take weeks to be delivered, so poor old Bushranger will be sitting, naked, with her “unmentionables” scattered throughout, waiting for her new innards to arrive.  Anyway, today is Boyd’s last day to sort through cupboards, because tomorrow he goes down river to collect the poor boat who has graciously sacrificed her relatively new engine as Bushranger’s replacement engine…and I don’t even know the donor boat’s name — shame on me!

2 questions: How are the micro breweries and where is Koko’s vest?

Excellent questions! Regarding micro breweries, I am certain that the captain will be mentioning any notable ‘brews’ in his log as he discovers them — one can only assume that there were no notable brews during the first two days of the blog. Regarding Koko’s vest, it appears that Koko believes that a vest does not make the appropriate fashion statement, so she will not be wearing one. She HAS, however, been practicing wearing a bright pink harness (which can be grabbed if she inadvertently falls in the water)…. also, an interesting look for our rather rotund cat….and a look that she is not very pleased with….
